Kristen Edmisten is a graduate student at UMKC working towards her MA in Mental Health Counseling. She has worked with a variety of individuals from many different age groups. She is passionate about working with individuals with anxiety, depression, and those who have experienced trauma.

Through Kristen’s experience in her graduate program, she has worked with many individuals in tough life transitions, identity development, time management and organization skills, and boundary setting. Though these are the things she has gained experience in, she is open to working with all ages and individuals of any background.

Kristen believes in meeting her clients where they are and giving them a comfortable space to share their experiences. Kristen’s approach to counseling is collaborative and she draws from Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral theories. She hopes to give individuals a space to grow and learn new coping strategies to get through the tough parts of life and for lifelong use.
