Londonne Ayers earned her MA in Counseling with an emphasis in Mental Health from UMKC. She has experience working with clients from a variety of ages, gender expressions, sexual orientations, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and ability levels both physical and mental. She primarily uses techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients address their unique needs compassionately and collaboratively, so they will grow in the process. To help clients suffering from trauma, she has used trauma-focused CBT and is currently seeking certification in a specialized trauma processing therapy known as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Londonne believes behaviors, thoughts, relationships, and feelings are “constructed” or influenced by the environments in which people have learned to survive. She loves walking along side clients as they take manageable steps to process their problems and build upon skills to thrive in their future. She would love to meet with you and help you begin a journey towards hope and healing. Londonne also offers consultation services for schools, organizations, and other groups wanting to learn about or design an intervention related to mental health and well-being.
