Meagan Guerreiro
Meagan Guerreiro, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Kansas City, Missouri providing therapy at Heartland Therapy Connection. She specializes in working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, and unresolved trauma.
My goal as your therapist is to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore whatever challenges you face, while developing practical coping strategies. My clients often feel stuck, struggle with intrusive thoughts or panic, or have difficulty managing overwhelming emotions. Together, we will work to face your fears, build resilience, and move intentionally towards the life you want to live.
Areas of Focus:
- Obsessive and compulsive thoughts or behaviors (OCD)
- Specific phobias
- Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (hair-pulling, skin-picking)
- Trauma and how it has affected you
Clients that work best with my approach:
- Teens and adults with OCD and other anxiety disorders
- Women of all ages
Meagan is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard treatment for OCD, specific phobias, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. She completed formal training and supervision through the International OCD Foundation’s BTTI (Behavior Therapy Training Institute), qualifying her to provide specialized, evidence-based care for OCD and related disorders.
She also regularly incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping clients learn to accept uncomfortable thoughts and emotions rather than fight or avoid them, allowing you to build a rich and meaningful life. In addition, Meagan is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-backed therapy for individuals who have experienced traumatic events.
Meagan offers both in-person and telehealth sessions for private pay clients and is happy to help you determine whether Heartland Therapy Connection is the right fit for your needs.
